Ernst Prost Foundation for Africa

Standing up for each other

Humanity, charity, and community spirit – these three pillars of human coexistence in a community are described in the African Bantu language with the word "Ubuntu." Ubuntu also means that as an individual, we are only a part of a greater whole. Ubuntu describes the universal bond of sharing that connects all human beings.

At the beginning of 2015, I opened a daycare center in a slum in Africa. The amount of suffering, misery, poverty, and hopelessness I saw there can only be combated by taking concrete action! That's why I established a second charitable foundation: the Ernst Prost Foundation for Africa.

“UBUNTU” – humanity, charity, community spirit

Africa is a vast continent with enormous problems. Epidemics are rampant, people are dying like flies, and children are starving. This affects not only Africa, but also Europe and the rest of the world. Local aid and improving conditions also helps solve our own problems, such as the unmanageable refugee problem at Europe's borders.

Children in Africa should have a future. This requires nourishment for the stomach and the mind, meaning food and education. The foundation has set itself the task of improving the living conditions of people in Africa through on-the-ground assistance. To minimize the administrative burden of its support on the African continent, the foundation relies on German-based partners who work in Africa. Like the Ernst Prost Foundation for people who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own, the ERNST PROST FOUNDATION FOR AFRICA also serves exclusively charitable and non-profit purposes.
